Application Guide for International Students 2023
I. Prospective Students
Full-time undergraduate, postgraduate students or non-degree students.
II. Criteria & Eligibility
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with valid passports and be in good health.
Applicants for undergraduate programs must be the holders of high school diplomas or the equivalent of high school diplomas in China.
Applicants for master’s degree programs must be the holders of Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent of Bachelor’s degree in China.
Applicants for doctoral programs must be the holders of Master’s degree or the equivalent of Master’s degree in China.

IV. Tuition & Fees

(Admitted applicants must pay the application fee by September 1st.)
Tuition Fee: Undergraduate Programs:¥16,000/year
Master’s Programs Taught in Chinese:¥20,000/year
Master’s Programs Taught in English:¥25,000/year
Doctoral Programs Taught in Chinese:¥24,000/year
Doctoral Programs Taught in English:¥29,000/year
Non-degree Programs:¥8,000/3 months
Chinese Language Programs:¥16,000/year
Accommodation: Single room:¥7,500/person/year
Double room:¥4,500/person/year
Insurance expense: ¥800/year
V. Scholarships
Scholarship Type A: Chinese Government Full Scholarship
1. Prospective Students: Full-time excellent postgraduate students
2. Criteria & Eligibility:
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with valid passports and be in good health.
Applicants for master’s degree studies must be the holders of Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent Bachelor’s degree in China and be or under the age of 35.
Applicants for doctoral degree studies must be the holders of Master’s degree or the equivalent of Master’s degree in China and be or under the age of 40.
3. Values of Scholarship:
Exempt from tuition fee and accommodation fee for Overseas Student Apartment on campus;
Monthly living allowance is granted to the students through the host institution at the following rates (CNY Yuan per month):
- Master’s degree students: CNY 3,000 Yuan
- Doctoral degree students: CNY 3,500 Yuan
Comprehensive Medical Insurance and Protection Scheme for International Students in China are provided by MOE for the scholarship students in China against hospitalizing for serious diseases and accidental injuries.
Scholarship Type B: Partial Scholarship

VIII. Application Documents
For degree applicants:
(a) Submit AAU online application.

(b) The China Scholarship Council Online Application for Study in China is available in https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/register. Applicants need to fill in and print out the application form after submitting it online.
(c) Highest diploma (notarized photocopy). Graduating students should provide a certificate of impending graduation and a certificate of enrollment. Graduation certificate and diploma should be submitted for the registration. (Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English).
(d) Academic transcripts (notarized photocopy): Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.
(e) HSK4 certificate or above is required for full scholarship Chinese-taught program applicants.
(f) A study or research plan. All applicants are required to submit a study or research plan. It must be in Chinese or in English and no less than 800 words. Content: Include but not limited to personal study or work experience, academic research outcome, research plan, personal goal after graduation.
(g) Recommendation letters: Applicants for postgraduate programs must submit two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English by professors or associate professors. The issue date of the recommendation letter should be later than September 1st, 2022. Recommendation letter MUST include: title of the recommender, place of work, contact phone number, email address and recommender signature. (Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English).
(h) Effective (within 6 months) Health Certificate
Physical examination report must cover all of the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form, and provide the detailed blood test report. Incomplete forms or forms without the applicants' photograph, a sealed photograph of the applicant, the official stamp of the hospital, or signature of physician are considered as invalid.

(i) Photocopy of passport. If the applicant is in China, a copy of a valid residence permit is also required.

(k)Non-criminal Certificate (notarized photocopy in English or Chinese)
(l) Applicants for English-taught programs must submit proof of English Language proficiency (TOEFL ≥ 69、IELTS ≥ 5.5 or equivalent certificates) (not for English native speakers and those who get the degree in English speaking countries). HSK4 (or above) certificate is required for full scholarship applicants. Partial scholarship and self-funded applicants who do not possess an HSK 4 (or above) certificate should finish Chinese language course before academic study (not for Chinese native speakers or those Chinese-taught majors who get the degree in Chinese universities) .
For Non-degree applicants:

X. Admission
After receiving the application materials and the payment document, the University Admission Committee will access all the application documents and make final decisions to select the best. Admission letters will be sent to the applicants’ mailing addresses so make sure the contact information you provide is correct enough.
