In October 2015, AAU hosted its first International Conference on “Agricultural Extension and Technology Transfer”. More than 40 colleges or universities nationwide participated, and exchanged their ideas on agricultural extension, technology transfer and agricultural science and technology cooperation between China and the United States. The Conference received positive responses.

In October 2016, the second conference was jointly organized by AAU and CSU, held in Fort Collins of the United States, which pushed the bilateral exchanges and cooperation.

In March 2017, the Inaugural Conference of China-US University-Based Agricultural Extension Alliance was co-hosted by AAU and CSU in Hangzhou China, and the alliance, with 15 member universities both from China and the United States, was established.
