On July 20, the graduation ceremony of the "Climate-Smart Agriculture Development and Cooperation Workshop for Myanmar," organized by the Foreign Economic Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA), was held at our university. Xu Binghua, Second-level Inspector of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Anhui Province; Jiang Ye, Director of the Division of Asian Cooperation of the Foreign Economic Cooperation Center of MARA; and Chen Liqing, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of our university, attended the ceremony.
Xu Binghua noted that in recent years, Anhui Province has accumulated considerable experience in climate-adaptive agriculture and eco-circular agriculture. He expressed the hope that this workshop would serve as a bridge to further deepen exchanges and cooperation with Myanmar in agricultural technology extension, talent cultivation, and industrial linkage.
Jiang Ye stated that the successful hosting of the workshop is a vivid reflection of the friendly agricultural exchanges between China and Myanmar, and expressed anticipation for deeper collaboration on more platforms and in broader fields in the future.
On behalf of the university, Chen Liqing delivered a speech. He emphasized that China and Myanmar share geographic proximity and cultural affinity, with a solid foundation and broad prospects for agricultural cooperation. He hoped that this workshop would further enhance mutual understanding and promote practical cooperation in smart agriculture and green cultivation, jointly contributing wisdom and strength to the sustainable development of regional agriculture.
Nay Win Tun, a representative of the participants, also delivered a speech.
During the ceremony, a summary video of the workshop was played, and Chinese guests presented completion certificates and commemorative gifts to all the participants.
The 14-day workshop arranged field visits and research trips to multiple agricultural enterprises across Anhui Province, allowing participants to gain in-depth understanding of local agricultural development and production models, and to engage in thorough and friendly exchanges on agricultural industry development between China and Myanmar.
