According to the China-US University-Based Agricultural Extension Alliance Action Plan, AAU, serving as the Chinese university liaison, arranged 10 officials from Sichuan Agricultural University, Northeast Agricultural University, Shenyang Agricultural University and Hunan Agricultural University to visit from Jun 3rd to Jun 24th in two batches US Alliance members, which are Colorado State University, the University of Nebraska, the University of California System and Oregon State University. Both two delegations aim to thoroughly study operational and managerial expertise, the mode of agricultural extension, and promote multifaceted cooperation among member universities of the Alliance.


During the visit, officials from Chinese member universities got a whole picture of the structure, function, responsibility and mechanism of the agricultural extension organizations and inspect the US member universities’ experimental stations in the field of agricultural extension and technology transfer. They also participated in the 4-H(Head,Heart,Hand,Health) education mode of American community colleges, and exchanged opinions about methods to promote the transformation of agricultural technology. They all agreed that these visits let them have a better understanding of the mode of technology transformation, the construction of experimental stations and the modernization of American agriculture, which may help develop multidisciplinary, multi-level and multi-channel technical cooperation among member universities.


During visits, Dr. Lou Swanson, Vice President of Colorado State University, and Dr. Glenda Humiston, Vice President of University of California System respectively accompanied visitors all the time.
