On March 28th , King Wilcox, President ofUniversity of California, Riverside, visited our university along witha delegation composed of theVice Academic Dean, Dean of School of Economics and Management, Director of Department of Chemistry, andProgram Officer. A cooperative meeting was held, hosted by Yao Zuowen, Vice President of AAU. Cheng Beijiu, President of AAU,attended the meeting, so did the directors of related departments,including thePersonnel Department, Department of Science and Technology, Office of Academic Affairs, Graduate Office, New Rural Development Research Center, International Office and School of Science.
At the meeting,Dr. Cheng briefly introducedour university, as well as the current situation ofinternational exchange and cooperation,followed by Dr. Wilcox’s introduction of UCR. Participants of the meeting exchanged ideas on cooperation details, and reached initial consensus. The two parties planned to start cooperationin the feilds ofEconomics and Management, Agriculture and Forestry. Excellent undergraduates and graduates would be selected to receive co-training or continue their study inUCR. Moreover, initialagreement wasachieved interms offacultyscientific research cooperation, academic training of young professionals and administrative staff..In his concluding speech,Dr. Cheng suggested that a Memorandum of Cooperation sighed first,so thatdetailedcooperation programs could be well designed and put into practice.
Afterthemeeting, UCR delegation visitedour university’s Biotechnology Building and Library, and the group enjoyed very much theexcellentteaartperformance presented by AAU students.
