From May 18 to 22, Cai Dejun, Vice President of AAU, led a delegation on a goodwill visit to the United Kingdom and Hungary. During the trip, the delegation paid visits to Scotland’s Rural College, the Royal Agricultural University, Queen’s University Belfast, the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences, and Morgan Star Group. Both sides held in-depth discussions and practical consultations on joint talent training, faculty and student exchanges, collaborative scientific research, cultural exchanges and campus operation management. The delegation signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Royal Agricultural University and reached an agreement on regular mutual visits with Scotland’s Rural College.

Meanwhile, jointly with the Department of Culture and Tourism of Anhui Province, our university hosted the Tea for Harmony · Yaji Cultural Salon at the Chinese Embassy in the United Kingdom and the Chinese Consulate General in Belfast. Taking Anhui tea as a distinctive medium, the event promoted fine traditional Chinese culture and boosted cultural integration and friendly exchanges between China and foreign countries.

This overseas visit marks an important step for the university to deepen international cooperation and advance internationalized education. Going forward, the university will build on this visit to further consolidate friendly partnerships with universities in the UK and Hungary, and fully implement all reached consensus and agreements. We will keep expanding cooperation areas and diversifying collaboration models to deliver tangible results in joint talent training, personnel exchanges and collaborative research. We will also explore new cooperation dimensions with other visited institutions yet to sign formal agreements and tap into greater collaborative potential. Leveraging featured platforms such as tea culture exchanges, we will promote integrated development in education, science and technology, and culture, steadily enhance the university’s international influence and openness, and strive forward toward the development of a Double First-Class university.
